Each May, Notre Dame Clubs around the country celebrate the legacy of Fr. Hesburgh by completing service projects in their communities. Last year, over 20 ND Club of Omaha members took part in our day of service. This year we hope to gather even more volunteers for our service day on Saturday, May 18.

The Notre Dame Club of Omaha site has been updated! We look forward to a great year that started with 60+ attendees at the National Championship gamewatch. Joe Kelly ’85 takes over as the new president this year along with Mike Mansour (vice-president), Joe Weigand (treasurer) , Brian Diss (secretary), Angie Kizer (SSLP Coordinator), and Matthew Johnson (Young Alumni Coordinator).
The Notre Dame Club of Omaha will host a gamewatch for the National Championship game on January 7. It will be held at Security National Bank (1120 S. 101st St.) with doors opening at 6:30 pm. If you plan on attending, please indicate your intention on the form below so we can get an accurate count for food and drinks.
With over 100,000 students and alumni requesting tickets for the National Championship Game there were a lot of people who didn’t win the lottery. If you were one of the lucky ones to score tickets, but won’t be able to make the game, a number of people in the Notre Dame Club of Omaha would be willing to take them off your hands. You can post them to the club’s ticket board via the <a href="http://ndclubomaha.com/?page_id=198"Football Tickets tab. Click on National Ticket Game to see the contact information for any available tickets.
The club will also be hosting a gamewatch, with details coming soon. Go Irish!!

It’s time to kick off our 9th Annual Christmas Giving efforts. THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE GENEROUS DONORS and your continued support for this program year after year; service to our local Community is a key tenet in the Alumni Association and Club membership activities!
Quick recap of the 2011 Donations:
Total cash donations were approx. $5700 (63% higher than previous year!); additionally 9 ND Club members adopted local families (46 individuals) for holiday support. We supported 50 families with food baskets and gift cards at two schools in eastern Omaha. Our Alumni ‘adopted’ 25 families (62 children and parents) through Assumption Guadalupe Catholic School and the Grandparents support program at the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging (ENOA). We also purchased approx. $1500 worth of cold weather clothing, blankets, and hats/gloves/scarves, etc. for the Siena/Francis House homeless shelter and Assumption school donation center. General donations of toys, sheet sets, towels, bus passes, grocery gift cards and dozens of toys for Christmas given to needy families through the ENOA, Salvation Army, and Siena/Francis House.
